ULTIMATE FLAT RATE CHART TOUR
The Ultimate Flat Rate Chart worksheet is an integral part of the Service
Manager System, which is also available as a stand-alone product (see order
form). It is a Microsoft Works spreadsheet used to calculate your labor
charges for hundreds of labor services. Job names, detailed job descriptions,
and time values for jobs are all incorporated into the worksheet. Simply enter
your base hourly service charge into one cell, and prices for hundreds of jobs
are instantly calculated. Use the Ultimate Flat Rate Chart on screen, or print
out pages to create a rate book. The Ultimate Flat Rate Chart is fully
customizable, allowing you to change job names, job descriptions, job times, and
even to overwrite the calculated price when it is more or less than what the
market will bear.
- In the illustration below, you are seeing a small segment of one component
of the Ultimate Flat Rate Chart, the job listings. This illustration only
includes only a small portion of the over 250 different jobs included in the
Ultimate Flat Rate Chart. In the example, you can see that each listing consists
of a reference code, a job name, price, a unit value (decimal time value), the
computed price, and the actual job time in hours and minutes. The job listings
have all been recently updated, and include a large number of suspension and
disc-brake services, as well as all the traditional services.
When you enter your shop base hourly rate in the purple rate cell, the
Ultimate Flat Rate Chart automatically updates all the values in the Price and
Computed Price columns (Price is just the Computed price rounded to the nearest
whole-dollar increment). If any of the prices are above or below what the market
will bear, they can be overwritten and the Computed Price remains unchanged, so
you will always know which jobs have adjusted prices.
- In the illustration below, you are seeing an example of the other component
of the Ultimate Flat Rate Chart, the job descriptions. These detailed job
descriptions let you know exactly what was included in each job when the time
values were determined. Perhaps your shop includes slightly more or less than
the job as defined in the Ultimate Flat Rate Chart? No problem! Job descriptions
can be edited and time values revised so the Ultimate Flat Rate Chart truly fits
how the job is done in your shop.
