With other similar tools, it often seems like a four-hand job: one to hold half the clamp, a second to hold the other half of the clamp, a third to hold the shaft or cylinder, then a fourth to tighten your vise. With the SCS-1, simply spread the jaws, slide your shaft or cylinder in place, then let the elastic tensioner grip the clamp to your shaft or cylinder. The tensioner snugs the jaws to the piece tightly enough that all three pieces stay securely together, while you easily tighten SCS-1 in the vise jaws.
